The foothills of the Andean range is made up of heterogeneous soils that come from over a millennium of mountain rock erosion and natural water causeway irrigation driven by snow melt and gravity. This makes it the ideal habitat for the cultivation of vineyards as it has excellent natural drainage and rocky, low mineral characteristics, leading to restricted vine growth. As a result, we can create wines with intense personality and distinctive flavors.

For the most part, the soil in the region is rocky, but made up of rounded stones, which not only allows for great drainage, but also for accurate irrigation control. Furthermore, this composition of stony soil makes for the perfect environment for plant stressing during key parts of the vines´ development process to guarantee well-defined tannins, a complex aromatic palette, and an abundance of other valuable molecules.

Another important characteristic worth mentioning, is the uniquely high altitude at which the vineyards of Mendoza are located. They can be anywhere from 800mts to 1.400mts above sea level.

It is also common to taste intensely diverse mineral and spice notes in the wines from our valleys.

In Salta the Torrontes vineyards are 1.700mts above sea level.
